When Republicans in the House moved to cut the funding for Americorps, Alan pulled the service movement together to stage a first of its kind, around the clock four day people’s hearing to Save Americorps.
After 100 hours of straight testimony with participants from 48 states, the funding was restored and expanded 50%

Women for Khazei
We are building Women For Khazei as partners in Alan’s effort to build a coalition for change, co-chaired by Colette Phillips, Aixa Beauchamp, Mora Segal and Alan's wife Vanessa Kirsch.
When Trump was elected, women all over the world started to organize. So did Alan. Alan served on the Steering Committee for the Boston Women's March and co-founded the Sister March Network which connected the 645 Women's marches that mobilized four million marchers all over the world.
He also co-founded the Sister March Huddles helping to catalyze a new wave of women led activism.
